Here's my first solo John Lennon cover! I love this song. It's off of his 1971 album Imagine. It features George Harrison on Resonator slide guitar (also known as a Dobro guitar) To donate to my channel click this link https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=WL8PBB68GBZU6 The lineup for this song was John on his Epiphone Casino, George Harrison on Resonator guitar, Klaus Voormann on Upright Bass, two guitarists from the band Wishbone Ash on acoustic guitars, Nicky Hopkins on piano, and Alan White on drums/percussion John plugged his Casino into a Fender amp- either a Silverface twin reverb or the Beatles Blonde Bassman amp (that had been used on Rubber Soul-Let it Be). I'm using a 1963 Blonde Bassman because it crunches up nicely, as heard on the record. No pedals! Amp settings: Normal Channel Vol: 3 Treble: 6 Bass: 3 Presence: 9 In addition to John's Fender amp, you hear some of the acoustic picking on his Epiphone in the recording. This is because he sang the vocals live with the guitar, and his vocal mic picked up the guitar strings. I put an AKG condenser mic on the Casino, in addition to the Neumann on the amp. So you can hear my acoustic strings as well. I'm lucky that I got to borrow a Resonator guitar for this cover. It's a 1970's Japanese made Dorado- made by the Gretsch company. I placed a Neumann microphone in front of it, it's not electric. George recorded his Dobro live onto the backing track, which was take 6. Afterwards, he overdubbed a new solo and a few extra lines. I include both the original and overdubbed parts here For the acoustic guitars I'm playing my Martin 00-18 and Gibson J-45. It's possible a 12 string acoustic was used on the recording, but I'm not sure I added some slapback echo onto all the guitars in Pro Tools. Esta receta es todo un descubrimiento. Para ahumarlo voy a utilizar el ahumador de @zwilling_es Es una gozada. Además de ser súper bonito, lo puedes usar como cazuela, para cocinar al vapor... es muy útil también para otros usos. Todavía estoy haciendo pruebas. La verdad que se me ocurren un montón de cosas, verduras, carnes, pescados… INGREDIENTES 600 g de salmón fresco 800 g de sal 800 g de azúcar Virutas para ahumar salmón, haya, roble o estas que son de “Oloroso Barrel Chips” ELABORACIÓN Comprobamos que el salmón no tenga espinas. Hacemos un marinado básico, misma cantidad de azúcar que de sal. Hay que pesarlos porque la sal pesa más y ocupa menos. Lo vertemos en un recipiente y lo mezclamos bien. Ponemos la mitad de la mezcla en la base, colocamos el salmón con la piel hacia abajo y lo cubrimos bien con la otra mitad. Tapamos con film transparente y ponemos unos pesos. Lo metemos al frigo durante solo 10 horas. Después, retiramos la mezcla de sal y azúcar, lo lavamos bien, lo secamos con papel absorbente y ya lo podemos ahumar. Calentamos el ahumador de Zwilling. Para comprobar que la temperatura es la correcta hacemos la prueba de las gotas, si al caer se forman bolas y bailan es que ya la tenemos lista, añadimos las virutas para ahumar. En cuanto salga humo, colocamos la plancha colectora, la rejilla y el salmón marinado. Cerramos, bajamos el calor al mínimo y lo dejamos de 10 a 20 minutos. El tiempo depende de si nos gusta más o menos hecho. Pasado el tiempo, lo retiramos del calor y lo dejamos reposar dentro 10 minutos más. Lo sacamos y lo pincelamos con aceite, yo utilizo de girasol alto oleico porque no le da sabor y se conserva mejor. Queda un salmón con un sabor espectacular. Pruébalo! Que te va a encantar.
