Here are our first impressions of Ambergris Caye, the larger of Belize's two most popular island getaways. We stayed in the town of San Pedro and hired a golf cart to get around. This is the most popular mode of transport on the islands and is a really fun way of exploring. After arriving on the ferry from Belize City, we drove to the Truck Stop to grab a pizza and ice cream, before heading further north and west to the Secret Beach. This not-so-secret beach is more of a rocky area of shallow water than a beach, but the water here is calm and clear and it's the perfect spot for watching the sunset.
